It's Time To... Cook It!

Hope you all had a great Family Day Weekend. We spent ours visiting family and friends and enjoying some birthday parties. How did you spend your Family Day?

As a family, we enjoy cooking together. The kids are always asking to help out where they can. Whether its setting the table, washing vegetables, they love being my sous chef. I think it is so important to keep your kids interested in cooking and food in general. Lets be honest though, some nights, I just do not know what to cook. I have cooked our favourites and some days I just a) don't have the energy to think something up, and b) sometimes I just don't have the time. So when CookIt approached me, I was very interested in trying it out.

I have never tried a food delivery service before, but I am running out of new things to try and as I get more and more pregnant with my third, I am too tired to think something up. This Montreal brand has been delivering 100% fresh food since 2014, but they have decided to branch out and allow Ontario to experience their service. From easy ordering, to free delivery, to simple and easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions, my husband and I were very impressed.

We were a little skeptical at first. Worried how fresh everything would be and how we would actually like the meals. And I will say, everything looked and tasted fresh. It all arrived on a Tuesday, which I chose as my delivery date, but they also offer Fridays. Each meal was separated into small packages labeled for each meal. One of my favourite parts of all this, everything is made in 30 minutes! Now I have time for a 30 minute meal, am I right mamas? Instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. What my husband and I enjoyed was that they were meals that I probably would never have even thought of making. Sometimes recipes drive me nuts, because you need a dash of this and a pinch of that and most of the time I don't have all the ingredients I need but do not want to go out and buy them. With this service, every dash of anything you need is right there portioned off for you and all you have to do is add it to your cooking. What I also noticed, is that they clearly label on their menu whether its, kid-friendly, spicy, low-gluten, vegetarian and even express!
